Meditation Room Diffuser Blend

Meditation Room is a house blend built from traditional Chinese herbs rather than perfumery materials — cedarwood and clove over mugwort, evodia and dark, sweet prepared rehmannia. Warm, woody and deeply earthy. For diffusers, humidifiers and diffuser stands.

About the blend

Most diffuser blends are built the way a perfume is: a bright top note, a floral heart, and a base to hold it together. This one isn't. It's built the way a herbal formula is — from roots, barks, fruits and resins, the sort of thing kept in a dispensary drawer rather than a fragrance house.

That makes it an unusual scent by Western standards. It's dry rather than sweet, low rather than bright, and it doesn't announce itself when you walk into a room. Wood and spice first, then something dark and faintly sweet underneath — the prepared rehmannia, which smells a little of molasses.

Both of our blends draw on the East Asian herbal tradition we grew up around, translated into something you can enjoy in a Sydney living room.
