First Light Diffuser Blend

First Light is a house blend built from traditional Chinese herbs, lifted with bergamot peel — bright citrus and soft florals over green, rooty herbs. Made for the beginning of the day. For diffusers, humidifiers and diffuser stands.

About the blend

First Light is built the way a herbal formula is rather than the way a perfume is — mostly roots, barks, fruits and flowers from the East Asian dispensary tradition, with one exception. The bergamot peel sits on top and does the work a citrus top note usually does, which makes this the more approachable of our two blends if you've never smelled a herbal formula before.

Underneath it, though, it's unmistakably eastern: green and slightly bitter from the forsythia and bupleurum, warm and peppery from the aromatic turmeric, with nutgrass giving it a dry, woody floor. Buddleia flower and Chinese raspberry soften the whole thing.

Both of our blends draw on the herbal tradition we grew up around, translated into something you can enjoy in a Sydney living room.
