Collection: Clary Sage
Clary sage — herbaceous, soft and faintly musky. Quieter than the name suggests.
About clary sage
Clary sage, Salvia sclarea, is a tall Mediterranean sage with pale, papery flower bracts, quite unlike the sage in a kitchen garden. Its name comes from the Latin clarus, meaning clear, and its old English name was simply clear eye.
The scent is a hard one to pin down: green and herbal at first, then softer and slightly sweet, with a musky base that stays in a room long after the rest has gone.
